Unforced Rhythms of Grace 9.8" Jesus Statue. Coming Soon
Being in the ebb and flow of life is to experience “the unforced rhythms of grace.” This is such a sweet spot in my walk as a Christian. For most of my life I have longed to be in the unforced rhythms of grace. Eugene Peterson offers a deeper description of Jesus’ invitation to us in his The Message version Bible that describes the scripture in Matthew 11:28-30 so beautifully:
Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
This unforced rhythm of grace — the ebb and flow of life — happens when we find the right rhythm of doing our best to be who God calls us to be, walking in His grace as we navigate living in community, learning our yeses and no’s, navigating our boundaries and our openness, to live freely and lightly until we are called home to be with Him.
We can at any time embrace the unforced rhythms of grace Jesus is talking about when we stop to listen to the whisper that is Him. As we experience the ebb and flow of life we can begin to not only talk to Him in prayer but we can begin to meditate or listen to His answers as we navigate this life.
This decorative statue is a beautiful representation of Jesus’ offer to come with Him so we can recover our life. He invites us to rest in him, to walk with and work with him so we can learn the unforced rhythms of grace.
